ANGE POSTECOGLOU delivered an update on the state of play before Celtic’s final game of pre-season. Celtic had most of the squad to choose from with some exceptions.

One exception over the last week was Gorgios Giakoumakis who was given a leave of absence to go back to Greece in order to be at the birth of his daughter.

As we saw on Instagram, the Celtic striker looked a proud daddy, posing with a picture of himself and his new born baby.

Speaking after the league game on Wednesday night where the bhoys played out a 2-2 draw with the Legia Warsaw, Ange confirmed Gorgios had returned to Scotland and trained at Lennoxtown on Wednesday.

The Celtic gaffer also confirming Giakoumakis trained with the two new bhoys and all THREE will be available for Saturday’s game against Norwich.

Postecoglou told RecordSport: “She’s had the baby, so he’s back and he trained today at Lennoxtown with Aaron and Moritz, and he’ll be fine for Saturday.”

It’s great news for those attending the Norwich game at the weekend. They might see two debuts and the return of Giakoumakis. The last time we saw the Greek at Parkhead he scored a brace on trophy day. Grabbing his second just before the final whistle.
