Former Celtic midfielder Mark Fotheringham is in discussions to take over at Bundesliga side Bochum, who sit bottom of the league with zero points after six games.

The club are hoping that the former Hertha Berlin assistant will be able to come in and change their fortunes as they try to survive in the top flight of German football after a decent position of thirteenth was secured last term. Dedryck Boyata was the captain of the side that avoided relegation through the playoff last season.

It’ll be a tough job, but after securing safety last season, Mark will have some confidence in his abilities. He’s about to complete his UEFA Pro Licence, also.

As reported by Sun Sport, the former Celtic man is in discussions with the German club.

He came through the youth ranks at Celtic but didn’t quite make it at the club, only making three senior appearances. He was well travelled, paying for clubs in Scotland, England, Germany, Cyprus and Switzerland before he opted to hang up the boots in 2019 at Cowdenbeath.
