It’s the tenth club of Anthony Stokes career but it looks like the former Celtic striker is on his way out of Adana Demirspor with the club putting out correspondence this morning.

Adana have told SunSport the player’s contract has been ‘terminated’ after a meeting with the board of directors.

“The contract of Anthony Stokes was terminated after a report of the club’s technical committee and the decision of the board of directors.”

Stokes spent six years at Celtic where he enjoyed his greatest spell with former strike partner Gary Hooper. Since leaving the club, Stokes has become a bit of a footballing nomad and has even played in Iran.

Anthony has had five separate clubs since January 2018 – with more than one terminating his deal. For whatever reason, the player can’t settle at a football club and at 31 he needs to be settled and scoring before his career comes to an end prematurely.
