It’s not unusual for Celtic stars to move down south after leaving Celtic but it unusual to see three turn up in the same squad.

Thats what’s happened in Sunderland with new boss Jack Ross at the helm.

The former St Mirren boss looks like he’s using his knowledge of Scottish football to build his league one squad for a promotion.

Adam Matthews, Dylan McGeough and now Glen Loovens will link up together next season in a bid to get Sunderland back in the championship.

Adam has been at Sunderland after making the move from Celtic directly while McGeough went through Hibernian. Glen Loovens has been playing lower league football for some time since leaving Celtic – the 34-year-old is still going strong.

Some Sunderland fans have raised an eyebrow at the signing of Loovens but Glen has proved himself at Championship level and should certainly be able to mix it in league one.
