Adam Idah has made a significant impact since joining Celtic from Norwich City on loan.
Celtic wouldn’t be top of the premiership, albeit with a game in hand, had it not been for the Irishman’s contributions.
He wasn’t the name that many Celtic fans were wanting r expecting, but Idah’s contribution of five goals and one assist in his first nine appearances has seen Celtic fans eat their words
Idah’s versatility in attack, being able to lead the line solo or partner with Kyogo, has added a new dimension to Brendan Rodgers’ setup.
Stephen Kenny, the former Republic of Ireland manager familiar with Idah’s abilities, has praised the striker’s contributions and highlighted Rodgers as an ideal manager for Idah’s development.
Kenny points out the adaptation required for Idah in Scottish football, particularly against teams employing a low block, and believes Rodgers’ tactical acumen is beneficial for the young striker’s growth.
He told The Celtic Way: “It is a different style of football for Adam and he will know that from turning out against Scottish teams who play with a low block and where space is limited. He likes to open his legs and exploit space but he will have had to adapt to the fact that sometimes in Scottish Premiership games that space won’t be there.
“Tactically under Brendan, I know he will be getting the work put into his game for him to progress again. That is one of Brendan’s key strengths and whatever happens to Adam at the end of his loan spell he will certainly be a better player for it.”
