GIORGOS GIAKOUAMKIS had felt some discomfort while with his international side and was sent for a scan. The scan came back clear. However, the Greek physios were keeping him under close supervision.
With Greece set to play Northern Ireland this week, it’s emerged that Giakouamkis has missed training with his teammates and is following his own programme. It suggests that Giakouamkis is a doubt for midweek and could be carrying a knock.
❗ Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis didn't make training with the team today and he followed a personal programme. Unknown yet if he will be able to play v Northern Ireland on Tuesday 🟢@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC

It’s worrying news for Celtic fans, who rely on Giakouamkis to be fit and firing, especially with the hectic schedule coming up. Games are crammed in before and after the World Cup, and Postecoglou will have to rotate the squad.
Celtic doesn’t particularly have a lot of strikers, with Maeda probably viewed as a backup to Kyogo and Giakoumakis. Bringing in a striker in January must be a focus for Celtic.
Hopefully, Giakouamkis’ absence from full training is nothing serious and is just a precaution.
