Gorgios Giakoumakis is set to hand Celtic a major title boost after the striker was spotted training with the first team at Lennoxtown on Thursday.

The camera caught the big Greek briefly as Celtic’s social media team followed Kyogo for the day.

There was a major fear the 27-year-old could miss most of the rest of the season after pulling up with a hamstring problem. Ange eased those fears last week but admitted there was no chance Giakoumakis would play a part in the semi-final.

Seeing the player back in training is great news. We just need to find out how fit Giakoumakis is.

Ange will go in front of the cameras on Friday afternoon for his pre-match press conference where we’ll find out if the forward will play any part against Ross County. It all depends when he returned to training.

The Greek striker has been phenomenal for the Hoops in the second half of the season. Having him back for the title run-in would be huge for the club.

There are five games to go and Celtic know if they win three out the five, they’ll win the title. Easier said than done, but we’re in a great position.

It’s up to this new group of lads to show what they’re made of.
