GREG TAYLOR was in front of the media on Friday, ahead of Celtic’s cup tie against St Mirren on Saturday.
Giorgos Giakoumakis won’t be part of the squad, with his move to Atlanta in the MLS confirmed earlier this week. The striker departed the Hoops in search of more minutes on the pitch while expecting a wage rise, with Celtic receiving about £4.3 million for the greek.
He was a big part of Celtic’s success last season, and without him, it’s fair to say Celtic wouldn’t have won the league.
Speaking on Friday, Greg Taylor ensured that the role Giakoumakis played last season wasn’t forgotten, as he wished the big character all the best for the future. [Celtic TV]
“Giako was a big part of the success we had last season and contributed to this season. So yeah, he’ll be missed. He was a great character around the building. We wish him well in his next challenge.”
Postecoglou was proactive, yet again, in the transfer window, bringing in Hyeongyu Oh before Giakoumakis had departed the Hoops. So far, the Korean has been impressive in his couple of appearances from the bench. Fans are hoping to get a closer look at him, with Saturday a good chance tp get more minutes into his legs.
