Hearts and Partick Thistle have issued papers at the court of session to take the SPFL to court over their relegations.

The Jambos have been relegated to the championship while Partick Thistle dropped into league one. The pandemic curtailed the season and left the SPFL with no choice but to call the winners and losers on a ‘points per game’ basis.

The interesting thing is, Hearts voted for this outcome.

They had hoped they could hammer through some sort of reconstruction before the start of next season but that was kicked into touch by the majority of clubs.

This has left the pair seeking damages in the amount of £10m according to RecordSport. The eye-watering figure which was released in the papers has led to a call for the clubs to be expelled from the SPFL.

Some of the top-flight clubs are enraged at the figures involved and wouldn’t be against seeing both clubs be given their marching orders.

Celtic have stayed quiet about the issue, as well they should. The process has to be followed, but with court cases lasting a while, we’re yet to find out if this will postpone the season until a decision is reached.

  1. If the sfa didn’t have the balls to bring a charge of disrepute against the rankers then maybe it’s time to grow a pair and not kowtow to these morons once again! Very surprised that thistle have been sucked into this mess, probably by Ann(gry)Ludge? HAIL HAIL.
