PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM looks set to challenge his sending off during the Celtic game a few weeks back. The Hibs boss was sent off when he kicked a water bottle and hit linesman Alan Mulvanny.
At the time the manager was incensed on the touchline and there was only one way he could go after he had hit the linesman.
Despite the footage and the admission he shouldn’t have done so – Heckingbottom looks likely to appeal the decision in front of the SFA on Thursday.
“There are things that I know I did wrong and didn’t realise what had happened and shouldn’t have done, which were pointed out to me. However, there are other aspects that I will stand my ground on and have a discussion about what happened and what I think was right and wrong.” Heckingbottom told SunSport.
“I’m not bitter or angry about it. I just want to get it resolved. I’ve seen what they’ve sent back and I’m happy to go through and deal with it.”
The Hibs boss will be glad of this circus in many ways – it takes the heat and spotlight off himself and his failings as Hibs boss so far this season.
The Easter Road side have been struggling and it was a bizarre game which handed Hibs a point against Celtic.
The pair meet again early next month in the League Cup semi-final. It promises to be another fiery affair between both sets of players.
