Celtic delivered a run of the mill, routine performance where they never had to get out of second gear to beat Motherwell.

Back in Glasgow, Hearts managed to hold the home team to a draw with a last minute equaliser.

It cuts Celtic’s deficit at the top to just four points. We were hoping Celtic could cut into the gap after the international break and they’ve done it at the first time of asking.

The Hoops need to put a run together, the more we exert pressure on the behind closed door champions the more they are likely to crumble.

Last season, with no crowd inside the stadium, they found it easy to see out games that could have gone either way. This season, winning 1-0 with 90 minutes on the clock with an anxious crowd makes for a more interesting conclusion.

Celtic are still at the early start of a rebuild and the crazy thing is, if Dermot Desmond and the board got their act together back in January, we’d be in a better position.
