Celtic’s recent signing, Hyeokkyu Kwon, has given fans an insight into his playing style during his first media appearance on Celtic TV.

The South Korean defensive midfielder, who joined the Scottish champions on a five-year deal, described himself as a ‘fighter’ and expressed his readiness to support the team’s offensive players.

“My type is a fighter because my position is a defensive midfielder. I’m passing in front. I am well aware that there are a lot of good players at Celtic and very offensive team players and because I’m a defensive midfielder I am pretty sure that I can be a great support to these offensive attackers and because I can also attack and be offensive myself, I expect to see a lot of synergy and teamwork,” Kwon said on Celtic TV.

Kwon’s comments reflect his understanding of his role within the team and his eagerness to contribute to Celtic’s attacking prowess.

His defensive skills, combined with his ability to contribute offensively, suggest a versatile player who can adapt to various game situations and could potentially be the player Celtic are missing in the middle of the park. However, it’s going to be hard to break into that m midfield trio of Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

As Kwon prepares for his debut season with Celtic, his commitment to teamwork and his fighting spirit will undoubtedly be valuable assets to the team.

Fans will be eagerly anticipating his performances on the pitch and his contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
