SCOTT ALLAN has taken part in an exclusive interview where he’s talked about his career to date and told some stories about his time at Celtic and Hibernians

One story that caught our eye was Neil Lennon’s over reaction to losing an Edinburgh Derby. Allan was on loan from Celtic at the time and says the club were unbeaten in 14 but then lost to Hearts. The midfielder recalls it all being a bit mental and Lennon wearing his heart on his sleeve.

The midfielder did reveal some of the players were in stitches after one of his rants which seemed a bit over the top.

“After the Hearts game I think we had went 14 games unbeaten and then lost to Hearts at Tynecastle.” Allan told PLZ Soccer.

“I don’t really want to go into it too much… some of it was mental!

“I think he came out in fact and said, ‘I’m leaving! I’m leaving! I’ve had enough!’

“We had went 14 games unbeaten at Hibs and ended up getting the highest finish I’m sure.

“But the boys just started laughing because you’re thinking surely not after the run we had went on.

“But I’ve got a lot of respect for him and I enjoyed working with him.”

On Neil Lennon in general, Allan was complimentary and doesn’t have a bad word to say about the Celtic manager.

I couldn’t say a bad word about Lenny, I loved every minute of it.

“I even loved when he used to go off his head to be honest!

He wore his heart on his sleeve and the next day it would be fine, as long as you went out and done the job for him.

“He’d make you feel really, really confident before you went out to play a game of football and for some players it’s a big thing.

“There would always be something that he would go off his head about.”

Neil Lennon and Scott Allan we’re passing ships in the night by the time the Irishman left Hibs and headed back to replace Brendan Rodgers. Hibs managed to take a point off Celtic at Easter Road this season – Neil will be looking for revenge in the semi-final of the cup.
