With so much things up in the air with regards to football we must never forget there’re people at the sharp end of this current crisis. People who are employed by clubs to do all the hard work in the background are currently worried where they stand.

Hearts are the perfect example of this who have had to cut their cloth just one week into the shutdown. The precarious nature of their finances means they’ve asked everybody working at the club to take a 50% wage cut. We won’t get into the morality asking  footballer’s who are paid thousands a week to cut 50% of their wage and ask someone on £20k per year to do the same.

However, clubs who can MUST let their staff know where they stand. We’ve not heard much from Celtic on this front. We know the club will come through this crisis relatively unscathed but we do have a large number of staff, not just on the football side but commercial and hospitality.

Today, responding to a fellow Celtic fan, Celtic supporter liaison officer John Paul assured supporters staff at the club have been given security over their positions.

Great news!
