Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu hit quite the run of form prior to the current international break. The South Korean internationalist is just off the back of a double against Aberdeen from the bench last Sunday.

This caught the attention of many, but Oh is eager to transfer this goalscoring form onto the international stage. He said (Sports G): “It’s unfortunate. There hasn’t been a goal for the national team yet. It’s disappointing. It is natural for an attacker to wait with hunger. I had to keep moving, thinking that one out of ten times, (the chance) would come to me. I think I need to make sure I can score a goal as quickly as possible. It’s not easy.”

Predominantly starting on the bench for both club and country, it is tough for Oh to make a notable impact at both levels. He does give his all, though, in order to gain the most opportunities he can.

When he does get his chances, one cannot deny that the treble winner takes them. A goal every 84 minutes in the league since joining Celtic is a vastly impressive record, and it is one that Brendan Rodgers and co will hope continues.
