Celtic interim boss John Kennedy has dropped a possible hint that he could be set for changes upfront for Sunday’s derby fixture against Rangers.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, Kennedy admitted he will have some food for thought when it comes to the selection of his striker for Sunday as to whether he will go with Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths or Albian Ajeti.

“It was good to see Griffiths in that moment (at Aberdeen), late in the game. That’s where he’s at his best, in and around the box. Odsonne is still our top goalscorer. He’s maybe not hit the levels he has in other seasons but he’s still a very important player for us. We’ve got Albian there as well.

“They’ve all trained well this week. It certainly gives you food for thought when a striker scores. We’ll just have to decide in the next day or so what’s the best mix for this game.”

With James Forrest also set to return to the squad for Sunday’s game, if he is to start it is almost certain we will be playing with just one striker up front.

Sunday’s game is one of three final fixtures the Hoops will have this season, so it will be interesting to see if Kennedy goes into it looking forward to next season with players who are more likely to be at the club.

For me, Odsonne Edouard would still be the man to lead the line in the game. We all know the quality the Frenchman possesses and it would be good to see that on show for one last time in this fixture.
