His time in Saudi Arabia has been challenging, with limited playing time due to the foreign player restrictions in the league.

There has been speculation about a possible return to Celtic Park for Jota.

However, it seems that Newcastle United is currently leading the race for his signature, according to So3ody Sports. This interest from Newcastle is facilitated by the shared ownership link between the Magpies and Al-Ittihad, as the PIF holds a significant stake in both clubs.

Eddie Howe, the Newcastle manager, reportedly has Jota on a shortlist of potential signings.

However, a potential move to Newcastle could face obstacles due to a proposed rule change in the Premier League, which could come into force before the January transfer window.

Clubs are set to vote on a proposal that could fast-track a ban on loan moves between associated clubs. If passed, this rule could hinder the transfer link between Newcastle and Al-Ittihad, possibly impacting Jota’s move.
