KRIS BOYD has begrudgingly tipped Celtic Star Jota to have another outstanding year with the Scottish Champions as the 22/23 SPFL season gets set to begin.

The former Ibrox striker claims Jota has that ‘x-factor’ that can turn any game in Celtic’s favour.

The bhoys are ready to kick off the defence of their title against Aberdeen at the weekend and they’ll have their Portuguese winger to call on after splashing the cash on a permanent deal for the player.

Boyd praised Jota’s impact last season and realised he could help bring the club more success at the expense of his pals across the city.

Jota has got that little bit of x-factor in terms of what he can bring in the final third. Celtic have spent a lot of money on him but, after 13 goals and 14 assists across all competitions last season, it suggests he has got another big season ahead.”

Boyd told Football Scotland.

Celtic weren’t given a hope of winning the title last season. The Ibrox supporters saw what was happening in the East End of Glasgow and thought they’d win the title at a canter.

Instead, they were humbled and found out playing and winning things in front of supporters is much more difficult.

Boyd struggles to give any Celtic players kudos, he must really rate Jota.
