KRIS COMMONS is hardly flavour of the month with Celtic fans so hit em for a penny, hit em for a pound seems to be the way forward.

Speaking to Sportsound about the two Glasgow sides, Commons thought a real barometer of where they both are is how many Ibrox players would get in the Celtic team and the former Parkhead midfielder could only pick one at this present moment.

“I would say that only possibly one, just because of how well Allan’s playing at this minute that he would get in the Celtic team.”

“Allan McGregor and Craig Gordon have been Scotland rivals for that number one jersey for many years,” Commons told Sportsound.

“They’ve gone through spells of playing excellent football and some real tough injuries.

“But at this minute in time, Allan McGregor is playing at a real, real top level.”

McGregor is probably their best player but I don’t think you’ll find many Celtic fans willing to say they would have McGregor in their team full stop.

The goalkeeper has made some top saves BUT he has also acted out like a thug with impunity to this point from the SFA.

Craig Gordon has been on top form for many years now and continues to impress this late on in his career after a debilitating injury which nearly ended the player’s career prematurely.

The real barometer is trophies, wins and losses and well Celtic are just head and shoulders above anything the Ibrox side has got.
