Celtic fans shouldn’t get obsessed or jump the gun with wanting Diego Laxalt in on a permanent deal. The Uruguayan has come in and hit the ground running for his loan side but we must be wary of not enjoying him while he’s here if we’re constantly asking the question.

However, football insider have thrown up some information about Laxalt’s future fee and it makes for interesting reading.

The site writes: A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Milan value Laxalt at around the £4.5m mark ahead of the January window.

If Diego was allowed to leave for that type of money, it would be a no brainer at this point.

With nothing in place with regards to a future fee, it’s all negotiable. Right now, and even in January, Celtic would be reluctant to look at this until the summer.

Milan brought the Uruguayan in for around £12m but might just want the left-back off the wage bill next summer.

Laxalt would also want to stay in Glasgow, which as we’ve sen from a lot of loan signings in the past, hasn’t range true.

We should enjoy him while he’s here and look forward to seeing what he can do.

  1. So at approximately 4.5m, will there be a queue of prospective clients wanting Diego to sign?
Yes I believe so. But like most auctions, the price begins at 4.5m + agent fees + wages. Let’s see how much the biscuit tin has swollen during lock down.
