LEIGH GRIFFITHS has taken to social media on Thursday morning to thank his teammates, friends, family and the Celtic support as he celebrated his first goal since returning to the fold at Celtic Park.

The prolific frontman had spent the whole of 2019 so far on the sidelines watching on as he battled mental illness.

Brendan Rodgers took the player away from the limelight back in November 2018 after he seen Leigh was in trouble. Since then, the striker has used the time to heal and get to a better place.

His belter of a free kick on Wednesday night was the culmination of a lot of hard work and self-belief. The player fell to his knees as he soaked in the adulation of the Celtic support on the night. A moment not soon to be forgotten.
