Despite a dazzling 7-1 victory over Dundee, Chris Sutton is cautioning fans not to get overly excited about the team’s prospects just yet.

The win, which saw Celtic scoring six goals before halftime, has sparked a wave of optimism among supporters, eager for signs of improvement after a challenging couple of months that saw the team slipping into second place in the league.

Before Dundee’s visit, Celtic managed a dramatic turnaround against Motherwell, securing victory with two goals in stoppage time. This sparked questions about whether the team had finally found its turning point. The emphatic win against Dundee seemed to provide an affirmative answer, as players left the pitch at halftime to a standing ovation from the fans, buoyed by hope for the upcoming match against Hearts.

However, Sutton urges caution, pointing out that while the victory against Dundee was significant for goal difference, it’s essential to keep perspective, especially given the tight race at the top of the table.

“Let’s not get too carried away,” Sutton remarked on Sky Sports.

“It was a big night for the goal difference. Rangers are what now, one better off? So it is a big night in that respect.

“But Rangers getting a win at Rugby Park was massive for them. What a game we have on Sunday. Celtic go to Hearts and let’s get it right, we don’t know which Celtic team is going to turn up on the evidence of what we’ve seen this season.”

It’s important for Celtic to take it one game at a time, meaning all focus now should be on the trip to Hearts on Sunday.
