Celtic winger Liel Abada is eager to return for Celtic this weekend in the Glasgow derby. The Israeli internationalist has been out injured since the 3rd of September.

What he brings to the side has been sorely missed in the three, going on four, months he has been unavailable. Abada has recently rejoined training with the first team, but whether he will feature this weekend in the colossal clash remains unclear.

On Instagram, the 22-year-old recently posted a story supporting his former Celtic teammate and fellow countryman, Nir Bitton. It was revealed on Thursday that the quadruple-treble winner had ruptured his ACL and that he will undergo surgery.

Abada told Bitton he will come back stronger:

Now 32 years of age, Bitton has been plying his trade for Maccabi Tel Aviv since he left Celtic.

With what he achieved when in Glasgow, he left the club a hugely decorated player. Just a few months ago, though, he openly criticised Celtic fans.

Bitton claimed the supporters had ‘zero clue’ what was going on in the Israel/Palestine conflict after they revealed a banner that read: “Free Palestine. Victory To The Resistance”.

This understandably touched a nerve with many. There is no shying away from the fact Bitton had widespread success at Celtic, but the feeling towards him from some supporters was made sour after his comments. Now, he will face an extended period on the sidelines.

  1. No doubt Bitton was a decent player but he spent too much time injured and suspended for stupid sending off in big games. Was glad tbh his time was up

  4. The real Anton Rogan,

I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe I’m getting old but I really struggle to read some of the contributions here and on social media. I would never have made it at Bletchley Park, the British codebreaking headquarters during WWII!!

    • I get there are some with genuine conditions, but its just lazy for others.

If you go to the bother of typing something, at least make some sense.

  5. Biton offered up prayers for the pilots that were committing war crimes.

Also, his much claimed humanitarianism seems to have deserted in the last couple of months or so.

As a Celtic player he was supported or criticised solely for his performances on the pitch.
