A snippet in the print edition of the Daily Mail has claimed Ange Postecoglou has his sights firmly set on a reunion with former Brighton and Man City man Aaron Mooy.

This link has come up already when Ange initially joined Celtic in the summer but never came to fruition. It was assumed because of the Australian’s incredible wage playing for Shanghai, there was no chance of a deal with Celtic.

Aaron, 21, still has two years left of his deal in China. Unless the player was somehow to work his release and take a monumental wage cut, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

The Socceroo is married to a Scottish girl whom he met when playing for St Mirren over ten years ago at this point. The only logical chat of a move would perhaps centre around Aaron and his family settling down in Glasgow.

Celtic do need midfield reinforcements, but we have to be wary of deals for players on the wrong side of 30. Mooy could certainly add quality and experience to our squad, and knowing Ange would be another massive plus; the pair working together in the national team.

As we said before, there’s a long way off this deal being able to happen.
