Celtic Legend Bertie Auld passed away on Sunday after battling dementia.

Since then, Bertie’s life has been celebrated by Celtic fans and the footballing world.

The wee man was so full of mischief and patter, the stories coming out about him are top drawer. Bertie, a wee guy from Maryhill who hit the big time with Celtic, conquering Europe and becoming immortal.

The tributes have been so great to hear and see and will no doubt bring comfort to Bertie’s nearest and dearest during this very sad time.

One tribute, in particular, caught my eye and thanks to SocialistBhoy on Twitter for bringing it to our attention.

Someone has taken the time to paint Bertie on a wall in his hometown of Maryhill with the tag line ‘Real Men Conquer Europe.

It’s such a lovely and well executed tribute to the Celtic Legend.

The Celtic family are in mourning over the passing of one of its favourite sons. We’ll no doubt come out in our numbers when it’s time to lay wee Bertie to rest and just as he did in life, give him a sing song as he gets laid to rest.

God Bless Bertie.
