CELTIC attacking midfielder Jonny Hayes is attracting interest from down south with former Hamilton and Norwich boss Alex Neil showing a major interest in the player according to reports.

Jonny has not played for Celtic since December when a horrendous leg break ended his season very prematurely.

The Irishman has been working to get back to his best and is in a position to challenge for a place in Brendan Rodgers side this season.

However, Alex Neil has reportedly put the midfielder at the top of his transfer list in a bid to boost his Preston squad ahead of the new season.

It’s unlikely Jonny will want to leave Celtic without making a proper go of it but if he is told he can move on then a move to England would likely be on the cards.

Celtic have so many attacking midfielder options, Hayes, before his injury was even used as a full back.

Hayes has been somewhat out of sight, out of mind with many fans looking forward to seeing Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie in the side, not many people have mentioned the Irishman’s potential.
