Neil Lennon has delivered the best bit of news of Ofsonne Edouard to date by telling the supporters he’s not just confident but ‘very confident’ the Frenchman will still be a Celtic player by Tuesday morning after the deadline has closed.

Clubs have until Monday night to sort out any more transfer dealings and many fans are apprehensive the striker could be poached just days away from the deadline.

Speaking to RecordSport, the Celtic manager addressed the situation:

“I’m very confident he’ll still be here after Monday night. In fact, I think I’m very confident they will all still be here.

“We’re very strong on it, we don’t want to sell any of our players — and we don’t need to now.

“Maybe if we hadn’t qualified it would’ve been something the board would’ve had to look

There has been rumours here if there but nothing substantial has come of it to this point.

It’s interesting how Neil Lennon admits a bad result in Sarajevo could have cost us our top striker when only Wednesday he assured fans European football was not needed to keep a hold of any players.

The club did manage to get into the group stage after the man himself got the only goal of the game in Bosnia.

Celtic go into the draw on Friday afternoon as occupants of pot one and could land former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester side.
