It is looking increasingly likely that Matt O’Riley will miss out on the Denmark World Cup Squad.
The 21-year old has been a regular for the Denmark under-21 side with his side narrowly missing out on qualifying for the 2023 European Under-21 Championship.
In a clip released online Kasper Hjulmand released his list of 21 provisional players for the tournament which did not include O’Riley.

The former MK Dons midfielder is yet to make his full international debut at senior level for Denmark and if he were to receive a late call-up it could present him with the opportunity to.
His international career only really took off after joining the Hoops in January having become a mainstay in Ange Postecoglou’s team. He switched allegiances from England to Denmark earlier this year but this World Cup may have just come too soon for the former Fulham academy star.
In recent weeks, O’Riley has been playing a deeper role for the Scottish champions due to the absence of Callum McGregor and has looked fairly comfortable in most matches – even picking up a man of the match award in the Champions League for his performance against Shakhtar Donetsk.
He will learn his fate in little under a weeks time with there still being five places remaining. O’Riley could still be the curveball selection but if not he’ll just have to bide his time.
