Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley has revealed his Grandmother’s adoration for watching his games. Despite being 85, his elder loves scrolling on Twitter and watching the football.

For the Hoops this season, the 22-year-old has been outstanding. He is the joint-top scorer in the Scottish top flight, something his Gran will have been pleased to see.

For her age, though, her activities seem somewhat out there. O’Riley said (tipsbladet): “I try not to think about it too much, but my 85-year-old grandmother likes to read about it very much and she watches every game I play for Celtic. She has been to the stadium, but she watches most matches on TV because she lives in Horsens. She’s sick enough – she’s on Twitter every single day and just scroll, scroll, scroll.”

It seems as though O’Riley’s Gran mimics the behaviour of many Hoops fans. She certainly seems a character, and she will undoubtedly be a key motivator for the treble-winner as his career progresses.
