There’s a bit of revisionism going on this morning after a great night for Scotland.

The country qualified for its first major tournament in over two decades and it was met with sheer delight. Ryan Christie grabbed the goal but it inevitably went to penalties where former Celtic goalkeeper David Marshall became the hero.

David saved Serbia’s final penalty to put them through to the Euro’s next year; sparking wild scenes on the pitch and throughout the country.

With the goalkeeper coming up big in extra time and penalties, it’s left more than a few Celtic fans asking why we didn’t sign David in the summer and others who believe Celtic must go sign him now.

When the rumours were doing the rounds about a David Marshall return, you would’ve been hard pressed to find someone who would go along with that idea in the Celtic support.

They wanted money to be spent and a fresh goalkeeper in. Right now, we’re unclear as to who our first team keeper will be, giving way to the revisionism.

David is and always has been a great keeper, however, in never looked in the stars.
