NEIL LENNON has told Celtic fans at the opening of the Celtic Festival this morning that the club DO have a contingency plan in place should Arsenal meet the player’s valuation before the Premier League deadline.

Lennon, speaking as he officially opened the Celtic Festival at Glasgow’s SEC, told Planet Soccer: “We obviously have contingency plans and have worked out other options if that worst-case scenario were to happen.

“So yes, having that extra two or three weeks later on in the window may be beneficial but as far as I’m aware there have been no (more bids).”

Celtic fans won’t want to hear their club making provisions to offload one of their top stars but at the same time it’s absolutely right the club make sure they aren’t caught cold with a late bid.

Moussa Dembele leaving at the end of last season left a massive whole in the Celtic squad and wasn’t even properly replaced in the January window.

If Celtic accept a bid for Kieran in the next month at least the club will put a plan into action.

You’d like to think some of the money they get from any transfer of players will go back into the playing squad.

Boli Bolingoli has come into the club this window and would be Celtic’s immediate first team choice if Kieran’s departure was confirmed.
