NEIL LENNON has provided a transfer update on his squad midway through their Dubai training camp with the Irishman making it clear his intentions.

The Celtic gaffer commented on rumours he could lose Odsonne Edouard this month, Scott Sinclair’s situation and the overall shape of the team.

Lennon on Edouard: “It might be inevitably but certainly not in the short term. We want Odsonne here.” Lennon told Sunsport.

“We have a huge second half of the season and he has made a huge contribution with his play, his goals, his influence on the team and we are certainly not in a position to want to lose that right now.”

Lennon On Sinclair: “He’ll leave a huge legacy. He’s had a tremendous time here. It’s just a case of gametime being limited this season.” The Celtic manager admitted to RecordSport.

“He’s a fantastic professional, fantastic to have around the place but ultimately he wants to play and we couldn’t guarantee him that so he’s looking at going to Preston.”

Lennon on overall ins and outs: “We don’t want too many going out of the squad, we want to add a bit of quality. We’re maybe looking at a wide area as well, but we won’t be seeing many I don’t think.”

Celtic have until the end of the month to add to their squad but the supporters are already getting impatient – much like the did during the summer window. Overall, the summer transfer dealings were a success, it’s about being patient and hoping the clubs can come up with the goods.

Edouard will move on eventually but hopefully not until nine and ten are in the bag, at least not until nine has been decided one way or another.

Celtic will head back to Lennoxtown next week and continue their training ahead of their Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle at Firhill in two weeks time. By that time, hopefully there’s one or two in the door.

  1. Sinclair’s game time should NEVER have been limited.
He is an excellent player and should have been played regularly.
Celtic have shown a complete lack of foresight here imho.
