Neil Lennon wasn’t having any of it yesterday, even when it came to one of his most faithful allies.

John Hartson hung onto the Neil Lennon wagon as long as he possibly could. During this season the Welshman has defended the Celtic manager through horrible results and even gave him his backing up until the last Glasgow Derby.

However, after the loss at Ibrox and the subsequent disaster of another four points dropped due to self-isolating players, John admits Neil’s race has been run and he should accept it.

Asked about his former teammate’s comments, Neil Lennon showed no loyalty to his pal.

Lennon told SunSport: “John has an opinion, like more people on the periphery of the game.

“You either take it on board or you don’t. It has no impact on me. It means nothing.

“When he praises me, it means nothing. When he’s talking about me losing my job or being removed from my post, it means nothing to me.”

Neil Lennon took on the world yesterday and gave the media about a week of material.

The manager should have been more measured in his approach but after self isolating and reading so much about Celtic, he’s obviously came back with a lot to say.
