Celtic January signing Nicolas Kuhn has been given a scathing verdict by pundit and Falkirk midfielder Stephen McGinn.

Coming off the bench for the closing stages of the Hoops’ 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at the weekend, the winger failed to make a notable impact. Indeed apart from his cameo at Pittodrie in which he bagged his only goal in Hoops to date, he has failed to capture the imagination.

The champions splashed out a fair few million pounds on the German attacker but he has started just one out of a possible six games since joining the club. The 24-year-old has not had the impact Brendan Rodgers would have wanted him to.

McGinn, brother of John, recently spoke on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast about Celtic’s January business, where he made a shocking claim about Kuhn: “I just found the two bits of business they did in January really strange”, he said (via RecordSport).

“On the evidence so far Nicolas Kuhn doesn’t look like he would walk into the Kilmarnock team with how well Danny Armstrong and Matty Kennedy are playing.”

Kuhn hasn’t looked the part so far but there is still a long way to go in his Celtic career. He has only been at the club for just over a month, but the early signs haven’t been overly encouraging.
