Celtic look like they could be in for a summer of change and perhaps the biggest summer of change since Brendan Rodgers took over as the club get set to let more than a few players go at the end of this season.

Right now, as it stands, there are NINE players who could potentially be off for nothing in the summer.

Some concerning, some unsurprising and some who should sign up before then.

We have included loans in this list as Benkovic will be off come the summer.

Scott Brown and Ryan Christie look almost sure to sign new deals before the summer, and both could put pen to paper in weeks, not months.

Dorus de Vries, Scott Allan, Cristian Gamboa and arguably Emilio Izaguirre could be for a straightforward chop.

As we mentioned, Benkovic will leave this summer to head back to Leicester, assuming the English club don’t use his recall clause in January.

This leaves Boyata and Lustig.

Both are in different situations, Dedryck looks like he wants a fresh challenge and perhaps the chance to earn more money at a club elsewhere. His actions in the summer, while they have been put on the back burner suggest he will not sign a new deal with Celtic. This has prompted many to say we should sell the World Cup star in January or miss out on any sort of fee.

However, at this point, the Belgium international could be more valuable to Celtic in the final six months of his deal.

Lustig is a player who can still give you a good game but cannot play with the same intensity and ferocity he has in season’s prior. This season should probably be his last if you’re looking at it from a purely footballing perspective. However, given his service to the club and his passion, will the player be offered a new deal and perhaps become back up to a new right back coming in within the next 6-8 months?
