Odsonne Edouard is reportedly still on the radar of English Premier League side Aston Villa.

According to journalist, Alan Nixon the, Edouard is a player who is ‘still a live target’ for Villa.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to several Premiership clubs in the last few months such as Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester.

Rumours around his future were then further intensified by the Scottish Champions exit from the Champions League to the hands of Hungarian side, Ferencvaros.

However, that does not appear to be a key factor in Edouard thoughts and he his happy in Glasgow according to his agent who revealed so last week.

Contract talks are reportedly on-going with the France under 21 striker as the Hoops hope to wrap him up for at least one more season. By signing a new deal it would also retain his value, with Eddy set to go into the final 12 months of his contract next year.

As well as Edouard, Villa have other reported striker targets they are looking at, including Brentford hitman, Ollie Watkins.

It is also thought that if any club were to place a bid on the Celtic number 22, it would need to be a significant one in the region of £40 million for a deal to be accepted.

I would say, I am confident that Edouard will be a Celtic player after the window closes. There is still a long way to go though, with the transfer window not closing till the 6th of October.
