Celtic striker Oh Hyeongyu has declared he’s ready to take on The Rangers at the end of the month if Kyogo isn’t fit.

Kyogo went off injured early during Celtic’s 5-1 victory over St Mirren on Saturday evening. The Japanese star looked to have landed awkwardly on his shoulder. Ange revealed after the match, Kyogo will undergo a scan and be assessed on Monday.

However, if Kyogo is out injured for a period of time, Oh has told the Celtic fans he’s ready to go.

He told Football Scotland: “I have been ready since I signed for the club. But I hope that Kyogo isn’t seriously injured, because he is a very good teammate.

“I am ready to start the next match. But this is the decision of the manager. He will decide what is best for me and for the team.”

Oh added: “It was very important for me to score so soon, especially after coming on in the game. As a striker, I tried to stay calm and not be nervous. Maybe I can try the same approach in every game now!

“But it is easier now that I have scored for Celtic. That was a typical goal for me as a striker. A big part of my game is waiting for rebounds in the box, being ready to score. I am used to that.”

Celtic have a cup final date with their Glasgow rivals at the end of the month. It’s a chance for Celtic to pick up another trophy under Ange.

The League Cup trophy was the first bit of silverware Ange got his hands in last season and he’ll be keen to get it back to Parkhead.

Oh opened his Celtic account at the weekend and looked very good when he came on. Hopefully we have bother strikers for for the final .

Before the final; there’s a very important SPFL tie against Aberdeen to negotiate.
