The news Brighton have made a substantial offer for Odsonne Edouard has many fans believing the game against Midtjylland on Wednesday evening could be the striker’s last game for the Hoops.

Duncan Castles told RecordSport the English outfit have offered Celtic £18.5m plus incentivised add-ons to secure the Frenchman for next season.

It’s a sizeable offer for a player who wants to leave and who is on the final year of his Celtic contract.

Eddy started Celtic’s first competitive game of the season last week against the Danish side and will likely play tonight with the team short on numbers.

After that, will he be involved on Saturday evening against Hearts?

There’s every chance a deal could be thrashed out by then to see the striker leave the club. Even if the frontman is still at Celtic come the weekend, talks might be so advanced the manager can no longer trust Eddy to play.

Ajer’s deal to Brentford meant Ange was in no way wanting to use the Norwegian before he left the club.

Eddy has been a fantastic servant for the Bhoys but if he wants to move on, I’d rather he did it sooner rather than later. We need time to bring in a replacement and spend what money we do get for him wisely.
