Celtic won 3-2 in the most comprehensive 3-2 game you’re ever likely to see.

Celtic were scintillating at times – especially in the first half. In the second half we looked a bit more laboured. The final twenty minutes could be out down to the changes we made for the disjointed end to the game and conceding a second so late on.

However, the inclusion of an attacking midfielder in the second half from Hearts in the form of Josh Ginnelly did cause the Celtic back line problems.

Celtic conceded a poor penalty through Carl Starfelt being hesitant in the box and gave the Jambos a route back into the tie. The door was firmly shut seven minutes later when Kyogo got his just rewards when he got out through on goal and slammed it past Craig Gordon at his near post.

The biggest issue for Celtic with two weeks left of this window – we need defensive reinforcements.

We will come up against more sustained pressure and better players in the coming weeks and months. If we defend like we currently are then there will be more heartache – Dominic McKay has two weeks to back the manager and bring in players who will make a real difference.

Ange has shown he’s capable of working with this squad and he’s making them better, he needs to be backed.

Over to you Dom…
