Another day and another Celtic player has left the building, and where most Celtic fans are sitting today, this will not come as a shock.

Emilio Izaguirre has said his final goodbyes to Celtic after returning for a short second spell at the club.

It has been reported for weeks the player was offered a new one-year deal by the club but wanted to find a club closer to Honduras to prolong his international career as much as possible.

Speaking earlier this month, Izzy told Honduran publication, Diez, that he had indeed been offered terms to stay at Celtic.

“Celtic have offered me another one-year deal on my contract,” as reported by RecordSport.

The Honduran has cut ties with the club, and if there was a legitimate offer on the table, the defender has chosen to reject it.

Celtic need an overhaul of their defence in the offseason – Tierney, Ajer, Jozo are the only players certain to be at the club come pre-season. Lustig has still not signed a new deal, Izzy and Gamboa have left, and Boyata and Benkovic have both moved on.
