PAUL SLANE of the Open Goal podcast believes that Celtic’s Kyogo could finish the top scorer and has tipped him to be the Hoops’ standout player this season.

The Japanese striker stepped up to the plate in Celtic’s Europa League journey last season, scoring two goals and assisting three last season. He’s started this season well, netting the ball three times in the opening four matches.

The former Celtic winger made a massive Kyogo claim that, if it’s true, Celtic will be in a great position to get out of the group. As quoted by the Scottish Daily Express;

“At the end of the group stages, Kyogo Furuhashi could be the Champions League top goalscorer. He’ll definitely be Celtic’s stand-out player in Europe this season. His movement and runs in-behind will be so effective because not many teams will sit back like they do in the league which will leave plenty of space for Kyogo to exploit.”

Celtic has a favourable group, fans are confident of results against Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk, and some are optimistic about sneaking a few points against Real Madrid, which would surely see Celtic qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

Although Ange Postecoglou won’t be allowing his side to think about that, he’ll be drilling into his team that they take it one game at a time. They’ll play their football and try to get some results; then they’ll see where that takes them.
