In a match that solidified Celtic’s dominance with a 3-0 win against St Mirren, it was the act of sportsmanship from goalkeeper Joe Hart that captured the attention and admiration of fans.

The incident, which involved St Mirren striker Toyosi Olusanya’s studs catching Hart in the face, could have escalated into a contentious moment. However, Hart’s classy gesture of embracing Olusanya, demonstrating forgiveness and sportsmanship, became a significant talking point.

Olusanya’s initial yellow card for the accidental but dangerous play was upgraded to a red after a lengthy VAR review, confirming the seriousness of the challenge. But before the final decision was made, Hart, in a moment of sportsmanship, stood up and hugged Olusanya, indicating there were no hard feelings.

It was a nice gesture from the Englishman.

Goals from Maeda, O’Riley, and Taylor secured Celtic’s win in Paisley and made sure they went into the winter break eight points clear of their Glasgow rivals, all be it having played two more games.

The January window will be pivotal for the club as Celtic look to retain their SPFL title.
