NEIL LENNON has given an update on his own squad after clubs down in England have some players in self-isolation after testing positive for the Coronavirus.

The SPFL is shut down and so is UK wide football we try to stop the spread of the virus. A much anticipated Glasgow Derby is off the cards this weekend and the situation will be monitored on a week by week basis.

“No players have displayed any symptoms. Business as usual. We’ll give the players a few days off and go from there.” Lennon told PLZ Soccer.

“It would be okay to move the Euros, but you still have Champions League qualifiers!”

“We have to look at it on a week by week basis. If we go away, where do we go? We don’t know.”

“Ideally you’d want the fans to be in the stadium. They play a big part. But if it’s needs must – games behind closed doors – then we’ll have to do it.”

If a two week period passes and there’s no spread among the players within Scottish football, a scenario where they play behind closed doors would be an option.

There’s no definitive end date to this crisis and it will be up for the football authorities and government to sort it out.

Neil Lennon was clear after playing 2/3 of the season, if the season was to finish now, Celtic would rightfully be champions.

Until this outbreak, Celtic were on course for a ninth consecutive title and fourth consecutive treble. Right now, everything is up in the air.

Let’s hope the game will resume in some form within the next month.

  1. The clubs will have to play behind closed doors if they are asked to do so. The remaining games of the season will have to be played.–I would say behind closed doors.
