Linked manager Ange Postecoglou has responded to recent links that he could be set to become Celtic manager.

After his side, Yokohama F Marino, defeated Shimizu 2-1 in the league, the former Australian Nation boss was questioned by the press as to whether he could be set to become the next Celtic manager.

As quoted by Sun Sport, Postecoglou was very coy on responding to these links and kept his cards close to his chest when it came to speaking to the media.

“Everyone knows me, knows that my focus is always on what’s in front of me.

“I’ve understood there’s some speculation around the future, but I’ve stopped thinking about the what-ifs in the world a long time ago.

“It’s not a guaranteed thing at all. My motto is to focus on the work that is in front of me.

“My focus the last couple of days has been on making sure we play well today.

“My focus is here (with Marinos). This is the job I’ve got, and I’ve always done that my whole career.

“I’m just focused on the job I have and making sure I do it well — or else other people will decide my future.”

With some of the Greek-born manager’s previous interviews in the press, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see him not speak to opening about the speculation.

He is also still currently manager of the Japanese side and remains that until he is released by the club to allow him to make the move to Scotland.

If reports are to be believed, Postecoglou seems to be edging ever closer to becoming the next permanent manager of Celtic Football Club.

So last nights victory could have been a send-off at his current side, delivering three points in the end.
