Celtic signed Josip Juranovic last summer for a fee of £2.5 million but could be looking to make a large profit if they sell the player this summer.

There is interest from teams south of the border with Athletico Madrid also keen, but it would take a huge fee to change Celtic’s stance.

Despite the interest from big European clubs, the Croatian is wanting to stay at Parkhead for Celtic’s title defence season while competing in the Champions League group stages.

Ange Postecoglou didn’t give too much away in reaction to interest in his right-back but did warn that if his standards were to drop he would find himself in trouble.

As quoted by The Sun, the Aussie boss stated;

 “Josip is part of the furniture, he’s training well.

“I think the key to it all is whatever happens in the future, it’s really determined by what you do today.

“With Josip, and the other boys, who had fantastic seasons last year, the key now is to improve this year.

“If they improve this year, all those kinds of things take care of themselves.”

Celtic Hold the All the Cards

With Juranovic signing a long-term deal at the club just twelve months ago, Celtic are in no rush to sell the player. A team would have to submit a record-breaking bid for Parkhead bosses to even consider selling the player.
