ANGE POSTECOGLOU fielded a rotated side in Norway. However, he has claimed that he expected the players on the park to be good enough to ‘get the job done’.

The side had the likes of Scales, Welsh, Ralston, Bitton and Forrest starting, with the more influential players such as the captain, Jota, Abada and Carter-Vickers dropping out.

The manager even started a midfield duo that had proven it didn’t work. Rogic and O’Riley both started the first leg, but the lack of defensive work from the pair meant Celtic were left vulnerable on the counter.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Postecoglou slammed his critics who believed the manager had thrown the towel in on Europe, saying;

“I was super confident the players we put out last night would get the job done and they didn’t.”

Sorry Ange, but I’m not buying that one!

There is no way he leaves the season’s top contributors out while already trailing by two goals, needing to win by three if the side were to progress.

Celtic’s key players should be well-rested for the crucial match on Sunday, with three points essential.
