With so many injuries down the left hand side of the pitch, if Scott Sinclair is snubbed to the point he’s not on the bench tonight then he’s clearly heading for the January Parkhead exit.

No Mohamed Elyounoussi, no Jonny Hayes, no Boli Bolingoli (although the left back is in the provisional squad) and Mikey Johnston is JUST coming back from a near three month layoff.

It presents an opportunity for other squad players this evening but will that involve Scott Sinclair?

The Englishman has been used very sparingly this season and hasn’t made some games you would have thought he could be a part of.

His Celtic career seems to be petering out away from the limelight and if you look at RecordSport’s provisional squad for this evening – Sinclair isn’t in the squad.

For what it’s worth, provisional isn’t definitive but it’s telling.

Celtic take on Rennes with the hope of making history by earning more than ten points in a group stage competition and to finish top.

There are a lot of options for Neil Lennon and he prefers to put Morgan on the bench for this evening again, it’s worth pointing out, Scotty could be gone sooner rather than later.

Provisional Celtic squad: Forster, Bauer, Bolingoli, Taylor, Ajer, Jullien, Rogic, Bitton, Brown, McGregor, Ntcham, Forrest, Edouard, Johnston, Griffiths, Christie, Morgan, Gordon.
