Celtic Football Club is reportedly considering a significant move in the upcoming January transfer window for Aberdeen’s standout striker, Bojan Miovski. [SunSport]

The North Macedonian forward, who has been a consistent performer, has caught the attention of Celtic’s management, with Brendan Rodgers closely monitoring his performances throughout the season. Aberdeen, aware of Miovski’s value, is expected to set a record transfer fee for a deal within Scottish clubs, surpassing the £4.4 million Celtic paid for Scott Brown in 2007.

At 24, Miovski has already made a significant impact, scoring 18 goals last season and adding 11 more this term. His abilities have not only attracted Celtic but also several English clubs, emphasising his growing reputation. Miovski’s performance at the international level, including a notable appearance against England, further highlights his potential.

Celtic’s interest in Miovski comes at a time when the club might face the temporary loss of key forwards due to the Asian Cup in January. Miovski’s addition would bolster Celtic’s attacking options, providing depth and quality. However, Aberdeen has made it clear that they are in a strong negotiating position and will not easily part with one of their key players.

Should Celtic Splurge Decent Money on Bojan Miovski?

Celtic fans often exhibit a certain degree of snobbery towards signing players from within the Scottish Premiership, preferring talents from abroad or more prestigious leagues.

However, Miovski’s age and proven track record in the SPFL suggest he could be a valuable asset for Celtic. One challenge in acquiring Miovski is the potential premium Celtic would have to pay.

Unlike clubs outside the league, Celtic might find themselves facing inflated prices due to their dominant position within the SPFL. Despite this, Miovski’s skills and potential growth make him an intriguing prospect for the club. The question remains: should Celtic invest significantly in a talent from their own league, acknowledging the premium but also the potential long-term benefits?

  1. Total pish and who started this drivel?

Celtic need a target man like Giorgos Giakoumakis. Not someone who runs around like a headless chicken most of the game, then can find the net after not much support play.

If Celtic needed a player of that calibre then they would have held onto Albin Aiete or Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Or were Celtic wrong to get rid of both of them?????

Doesn’t suit St Brendan’s style of play.

Plenty of other players out in Europe or world wide that can plough a furrow and start a play, then score from it, looking for a Xmas move.

See what becomes of this, If This guy is a world beater why are the Dons doing so badly in Europe (admittedly Celtic are gash too) plenty of time to sieve through players resumse’s before the new years even out.
