Celtic are leading the race for Cardiff Central Defender Ciaron Brown according to TeamTalk. Brown’s contract is coming to an end, expiring this summer, but it is thought that Cardiff will look to offer him a new deal.

Brown has already spent time in Scotland while on loan to Livington across 2 different spells. He was recalled from the West Lothian club at the turn of this year.

Since returning the 23-year-old has started 12 times in the second division of English football for the bluebirds helping to keep 4 clean sheets. Cardiff finished 8th, 2 places off the promotion playoffs.

If Celtic were to sign the Northern Irishman they would have to shake off interest from clubs in Scotland and overseas. K.V. Oostende sees Brown as a replacement to Jack Hendry who is currently out on loan in Belgium, the report details.

Celtic are certainly lacking options in defence, Ajer is set to move away from Glasgow this summer, Bitton is rumoured to return to Israel and Duffy’s loan has expired. Multiple defensive signing will need to be made the summer, preferably before the Champions League qualifiers commence in July.
