Celtic could be set to continue to bolster their midfield options, even after the signings of both Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.

Throughout the season so far, it has been a mostly settled midfield three for Ange Postecoglou, with Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic and David Turnbull being the regulars in that area of the midfield.

However, the trio have rarely been afforded a break, with all three picking up injuries at some point in the first half of the campaign. When replaced with other options in the squad, it was also clear to see the drop in quality.

A report from the Scotsman, which summarises what business Celtic could look to do in the January window, has suggested that Celtic could look to add more options to their midfield due to David Turnbull sustaining a serious hamstring injury.

In this window, Postecoglou has already been linked with several moves for different players, including Borussia Monchecngladback attacking midfielder Hannes Wolf, in a loan move for the Austrian under-21 internationalist.

Celtic have previously come up against Wolf during his time with Red Bull Salzburg, who the Hoops faced in the 2018/19 Europa League campaign.

It would certainly be interesting to see another addition to midfield, with a loan move until the end of the season for a player such as Wolf possibly making sense, given the current injury to Turnbull.

Although, as mentioned above, it remains to be seen if that is an area the Celtic boss will look into more after the additions of Hatate and Ideguchi from the J-League.
